Meet Ian and Clair

The family that lives here runs your day

We're Ian and Clair Belknap, the fourth generation on a farm our family has worked since 1916. In 2020 we opened the barn our family renovated to couples, and we've been on site for every wedding since.

Clair is our venue planner. She handles the emails, calls, tours and booking, and she runs the early morning activities on your wedding day. Ian takes over in the afternoon and runs the evening of your event. The two of us handle the parking ourselves. We're a family that wants you to leave the farm happier than you came.

We started hosting weddings because we wanted to share the charm and beauty of our quiet, tucked away farm with our fellow Southern Indiana and Louisville residents. We have made so many happy memories in this beautiful place and felt it was only right to share it with the world.

How It Works

From your first visit to your wedding day

One event at a time, your date confirmed in writing, and a family you can reach the whole way through.

  1. 1

    Tour the farm

Walk the barn, the deck and the ceremony spots with us. Tours are by appointment, Monday to Friday.

  2. 2

    Lock in your date

Sign the contract and pay your deposit, and your date is yours. We never book more than one event at a time.

  3. 3

    Plan it your way

Choose your caterer, bartender and vendors (our preferred list is a good place to start) and work out the layout with Clair. The full balance and the damage deposit are due 60 days before your event.

  4. 4

    Enjoy the day

Decorate from 8am, celebrate until 11pm. Clair runs the morning, Ian runs the evening, and the two of us handle the parking. Clean-up happens that evening.

Questions Couples Ask

The answers to the most common questions

These come up on nearly every tour. For the rest, see the full FAQ or ask us when you visit.

Is the barn air-conditioned?

The main hall is cooled by four 60-inch windmill fans, two 36-inch Big Ass Fans and the breeze through the barn doors. The bridal suite, groom's room and both restrooms are fully climate controlled.

Can we bring our own caterer and alcohol?

Yes to both. You choose your caterer, and you can bring your own alcohol as long as a licensed and insured bartender serves it. Linens, plates, silverware and glassware come from your caterer or a rental vendor.

What happens if it rains?

Your ceremony moves into the main hall, which seats everyone, and the covered leisure area keeps cocktail hour outside and dry. We also have a generator on site in case of bad weather.

How many guests can the barn hold?

The barn is zoned for 200 guests, with tables and chairs for all 200 included. The main lot parks 54 cars, with auxiliary parking for the rest.

When can we set up, and when do we clean up?

Your rental runs from 8am to 11pm, so you can start decorating at 8am on the day. Clean-up is done the same evening. Amplified music ends at 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays and 8pm on other nights.

Can our guests visit the animals?

Yes. Guests love meeting the goats, pot-bellied pigs and mini donkeys, and one of us will be there to guide the visit. We don't offer bonfires or fishing during events.

Where can out-of-town guests stay?

There's no lodging on the farm. The Drury Inn & Suites Louisville North and the Hilton Garden Inn Louisville Northeast in Springhurst are about 15 minutes away, off the Gene Snyder at Brownsboro Road.

When is the farm open for events?

Our season runs April through November, seven days a week. We don't host December events.
